How Interior Designers Can Get Started on TikTok

This shared responsibility indicates that while Newey's departure would be a significant loss, the team may still maintain its competitive edge thanks to the knowledge of the likes of Piere Wache, and the like. Newey, who has a longstanding reputation as one of F1's most innovative technical minds, has reportedly received numerous offers from other top teams, including Aston Martin and Ferrari. However, his current contract with Red Bull includes a clause that restricts him from joining any other F1 team until 2027, nearly forcing his hand toward retirement if he chooses to leave. Adrian Newey, the genius behind Red Bull Racing's design team, is reportedly stepping away from Formula One. Rumors suggest he is considering retirement instead of joining another team due to contractual constraints. For any role, beginners will learn the basics of the window covering language.

Goldberg said they wanted to narrow in on that idea of connection and the experiences that bind everyone in New York together. In the uniform, that manifests largely in transportation. “We actually had many designs with Queens across the chest,” Goldberg told The Athletic. “Frankly, the decision was that we are more than Queens.

What Our Clients Are Saying

The seven-episode limited drama series was written and created by Scottish comedian Richard Gadd, who stars as an alternate version of himself, Donny Dunn. Join the Behind the Design Community to connect with like-minded professionals, gain exclusive insights, and advance your career in the world of design. There’s a video that goes viral of one of them shouting at Jewish students, go back to Poland, go back to Europe. What it seemed to evoke was the message that Hamas should murder those Jewish students. That’s the way the Jewish students interpreted it. After the break, what all of this has looked like to a student on Columbia’s campus.

Goldberg and Benesh acknowledged that, given that this is a Nike project, the target demographic of the jerseys skews younger and to less experienced baseball fans. That said, they hope they’ve created something that will hit with all parts of the Mets fan base. Started in 2021, Nike’s City Connect series challenges teams to design a new uniform, distinct from their usual set, that tells a story about its home. The Mets are the 21st team to unveil a City Connect jersey.

And now these schools only have a week or two left of classes. But we don’t know when these standoffs are going to end. We don’t know if students are going to leave campus for the summer. And so when you have a question that feels as urgent as this war does for a lot of people, I think it reverberates in an incredibly intense way on those campuses.

It was the first time that he has been shown alive since his captivity began. His kidnapping was the subject of a “Daily” episode in October that featured his mother, Rachel. In response to Hamas’s video, Rachel issued a video of her own, in which she spoke directly to her son. And set up an encampment in the middle of campus, no matter what the rules say. And this is not representative of the vast majority of the protesters in the encampment, who mostly had been peaceful. They would later hold a Seder, actually, with some of the pro-Palestinian Jewish protesters in their ranks.

Her dynamic problem-solving can confront potential obstacles proactively andenergize any team, making others feel valued to achieve their ambitious company goals. The ending is left ambiguous, as Donny has a chance at success by working for the man who raped him. Maybe he even has a shot at real happiness, but he’s still carrying the trauma that destroyed his life, and has placed himself back under the control of his abuser.

Curious About Our Process?

This is a university that has both one of the largest Jewish student populations of any of its peers. But it also has a large Arab and Muslim student population, a big Middle Eastern studies program. They were asked very pointed questions about the kind of speech taking place on their campuses, and they gave really convoluted academic answers back that just baffled the committee. But there was one question that really embodied the kind of disconnect between the Committee — And it wasn’t just Republicans, Republicans and Democrats on the Committee — and these college presidents.

The story isn’t quite as simple as a nefarious stalker hunting a tragic victim, but a man who makes the mistake of enabling a delusional, dangerous woman. Donny certainly doesn’t deserve to endure Martha’s stalking, but he makes the situation worse by withdrawing from confrontation. Above all, Baby Reindeer is a story about the radioactive, corrosive nature of trauma, and all the messy ways it manifests in one’s life. The show never tells us how to feel about these things; it just depicts the fallout. It’s one of those stories that is stranger than fiction; Baby Reindeer doesn’t sugarcoat the messy realities of life, and isn’t afraid to show the vulnerability of flawed people, or the flaws of vulnerable people. And on Wednesday, Hamas released a video of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, an Israeli-American dual citizen, whom Hamas has held hostage since October 7.

New York NYC Manhattan-Brooklyn cruise port schedule

manhattan cruise terminal schedule 2023

Upon disembarkation from your cruise, you'll be picking up your bags and going through customs on the street level of the Manhattan port. As with all cruise line disembarkation, you'll find your luggage by the color-coded tags you were given on the last night of the cruise. Unless you've been dropped off on Level Two, you will need to take the elevator up from street level or down from the parking level. Once inside, terminal employees will guide you to the appropriate line. Lines are divided by loyalty program membership level, as well as cabin category.

US Customs and Border Protection and US Immigration and Customs agencies regulate international shipping imports and cruise passenger arrivals. There can be heavy traffic into the city from Queens and Brooklyn. So, depending on the time you’re traveling, taking the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) from JFK to New York’s Penn Station and then a 10-minute cab ride to the Manhattan cruise port may be faster. All these ports/cruise terminals are part of the "Port of New York and New Jersey" - a port district in the New York Metro (total population 20,1+ million). New York City’s world-class cruise ship ports in both Brooklyn and Manhattan offer ideal facilities for cruise arrivals and departures.

Payment is due upon arrival into the parking lot and reservations are not accepted. There's also plenty of parking available at independent garages all throughout the west side of Manhattan. Take the Queens-Midtown Tunnel and go west on 34th St until you reach 12th Ave. In October 2014, RCCL-Royal Caribbean and NYC Port Authority dedicated a Cape Liberty cruise terminal for the RCI's ship Quantum OTS.

Connecting to Con Edison power grid, the shorepower system allows ships to run their onboard systems without using diesel generators. This eliminates ~1500 tons of CO2, ~95 tons of NOx, and ~6,5 tons of soot/particulate matter annually. Within the seaport there are 2 FTZs (foreign-trade zones) where commercial goods (domestic and foreign) receive same Customs treatment as outside USA.

In 2014, the total number of handled intermodal TEUs was 391,596. Petroleum and scrap metals are handled at bulk cargo terminals, many of which are located along the port's straits and canals. NYCruise brings the most spectacular—often the biggest and most luxurious passenger ships to our terminals in Red Hook, Brooklyn and the West Side of Manhattan from European origins or distant ports in the Americas.

The following timetable provides valuable information and keeps track of the future cruise shiparrivals from all major cruise lines. Inorder to find out more about the cruise ship itineraries such as ports, dates, and arrival/departuretimes just follow the ship’s link. The Brooklyn Cruise Terminal was the first shore power system for cruise ships installed on the East Coast of the United States and remains the only shore power capable terminal on the East Coast. This NYC cruise terminal has 3 wharves – Pier 88 (2 berths), Pier 90 (2 berths), and Pier 92 (1 overflow berth). They can accommodate up to 5 cruise liners simultaneously and each has a fully-functioning passenger terminal building. Manhattan terminal serves NCL Norwegian, Carnival Cruise Line and Holland America.

Brooklyn New York cruise port terminal can accommodate only one ship. Port New York has two cruise ports with their own passenger terminal facilities. Port Manhattan (4 berths on 2 piers - numbers 88 and 90) is located on Manhattan Island's western coast, beside the Hudson River.

Spring Cruises from New York

Welcome to New York City’s world-class cruise ship terminals in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Port Cape Liberty is in close proximity to EWR-Newark Liberty Airport (10 mi / 16 km to the west, ~20-min travel time by car) and easy to access, skipping NYC's heavy traffic and bridges. The Manhattan passenger terminal is on Hudson River (on Manhattan Island's shoreline), located is between West 44 and West 52 streets.

Once at the Manhattan cruise port, the driver can either drop you off across the street or drive up the ramp to the second level (the entrance to the second level is on 55th Street). Check-in is on the second level, so you'll need to take the elevator or the escalator. Cruisers departing from the Manhattan cruise port can fly into New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport or LaGuardia Airport, or into New Jersey’s Newark Liberty International Airport. Shuttles, taxis and public transport are available at all airports; Uber and Lyft also operate at JFK and LaGuardia.

If you're being picked up by a private car, you'll need to go up one level to the pick-up/drop-off zone. Elevators to access the Customs Hall are located at the head of each pier. Amtrak offers service to New York City along the Northeast Corridor from Boston, Providence, Hartford, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C. From Penn Station, you'll need to take a taxi to get to the Manhattan port.

Costs were ~USD 10 million (to service one slip) and involve substantial infrastructure improvements. Ship operators must spend ~USD 1 million to make a vessel shorepower-ready. A typical container ship in port uses about as much energy as a single terminal at Boston’s Logan Airport, while RMS Queen Mary 2 requires 13 megawatts (equal to the entire airport).

As of September 2016, NYCEDC has responsibility for the system's operations and maintenance. Port's foreign trade zones - FTZ 1 (New York) and FTZ 49 (New Jersey)  handled in 2010 a combined shipping traffic of 4811 vessels and over 32,2 million tons of cargoes valued USD 175+ billion. Significant investment led to the creation of the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and the renovation of the Manhattan Cruise Terminal at Pier 88 and Pier 90. A key enhancement included the redesign of Pier 88 passenger flow, with travelers now embarking only through the main level, and disembarking only through the ground level. The Manhattan Cruise Terminal is constantly being upgraded and improved. Follow our social media and blog for the latest cruise and travel news, including our best vacation deals.

In 2018, Brooklyn served 143,030 passengers with 28 ship calls and Manhattan served 1,154,987 passengers with 207 ship calls. With increasing numbers of ship calls and enhancements in easing the passenger flow to ground transportation, the terminals are opening eyes as travelers disembark for their visit to New York City. Opened in April 2006, the state-of-the-art Brooklyn Cruise Terminal has received numerous accolades, including “Cruise Terminal of the Year” by Princess Cruise Lines and “Best New Homeport” by PortHole Magazine. Dedicated embarkation and debarkation areas allow passengers to get on the ship without waiting. In its first year of operation, the 182,000-square-foot Brooklyn Cruise Terminal welcomed 40 ships and added 330 new permanent jobs to the Brooklyn waterfront.

Each terminal is easily accessible from all NYC airports and from the area’s major roadways. Note that passengers will not be able to drop off luggage at the Manhattan cruise terminal before parking their vehicle, as they’ll have to exit the terminal to park. There are two cruise piers at Manhattan Port (Pier 88 at 48th Street and Pier 90 at 52nd Street). When only one cruise ship is in port, it will embark or disembark from Pier 90. Check in for both piers is on Level Two of the Manhattan cruise terminal; there is only one entrance for each.

In March 2006, some passenger terminals were transferred (as management) to DP World (Dubai-based corporation). The company "Port Authority of New York and New Jersey" was established in 1921 to manage all facilities and services within the combined NY-NJ harbor area. The company also controls all vehicular and rapid-transit systems connecting New York and New Jersey, several airports, as well as real estate developments. It encompasses an area with a radius ~25 mi (40 km) and includes all navigable waterways in NY–NJ Harbor Estuary. The covered coastline is around 650 mi (1050 km) along both states. By annual cargo capacity, the seaport is ranked USA's 3rd largest - after South Louisiana (Mississippi River) and Houston (Texas).

In 2010, the NY-NJ Port Authority estimated that improvement to air quality could yield public health benefits of USD 99 million over 15 years. That was a key element for community groups around the terminal’s Red Hook neighborhood to start pushing for shore power. Beyond the infrastructure cost, the project was delayed by haggling over the price of electrical power – in an era where cheap fuel prices made shipboard generation more economical. The power costs are subsidized in part by the EDC and the New York Power Authority, with terminal user Carnival Corp picking up the rest.

Guide to cruises from Fort Lauderdale

captain memo pirate cruise reviews

With over 130 flights to domestic and international destinations, Fort Lauderdale’s airport has plenty of direct flights to choose from. These cruises remain family oriented, however they can be a little late for young children. These cruises are favorites of couples and adult groups looking for wholesome fun.

How to get to the Fort Lauderdale cruise port

The Westin offers both standard rooms and suites, the most coveted of which have sweeping ocean views. Port Everglades is conveniently located just 5 miles from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and 4 miles from downtown Fort Lauderdale. Cleanliness and order are among the top priorities of our crew which extends to all facilities. A professional quality surround system throughout the boat plays a wide variety of tunes. Our Gift Certificates are offered in standard and holiday-themed patterns including Christmas and Valentine’s Day.

Location & Hours

The hotel has both standard rooms and suites and offers an outdoor pool, fitness center, and on-site restaurants. The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is a great hotel choice for those looking to splurge on their pre-cruise hotel stay. Because the hotel puts a focus on enjoying the beach, outdoor pool space, and on-site restaurants, you may want to book a stay longer than just one night. Is this cruise for kids/what age range is this cruise for? We have entertainment for kids 2 and up and adults can enjoy the festivities as well.

Royal Caribbean Blog is your ultimate source for Royal Caribbean coverage.

Other hotel amenities include an on-site restaurant, fitness center, outdoor pool, electric vehicle charging, and business services. The hotel is located in the Dania Beach neighborhood within walking distance to shopping and dining at Dania Pointe. During this family entertainment cruise, soak up the sun and scenic views of Clearwater, while scanning the water for local marine life such as pods of dolphins who often play off in the surf. A spirited crew stays in full character, offering a fantastic experience for children by regaling them with pirate tales, a treasure hunt and interactive games. Kids can shoot off small water guns, be transformed into a pirate with face paint and end the cruise with a dance party. Near the hip neighborhood of Las Olas is the Hyatt Centric Las Olas Fort Lauderdale, and this hotel is the perfect choice for those in search of an exciting evening in the city.

We recommend arriving with enough time to enjoy the property’s colorful pool space, which features a pool bar and rooftop yoga sessions in the morning. The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, like the Westin, is another nice choice for those looking for a more elevated hotel experience on the beach. The property is an all-suite resort, and most suites have a kitchen, living room, and one or two bedrooms. We recommend staying in the Dania Beach neighborhood, which is located near the airport and cruise port. Those driving to the Fort Lauderdale cruise port have a few options when it comes to parking, all with varying price points. Because Port Everglades is located so close to Fort Lauderdale’s airport, there are many parking lots available to choose from. Passengers should expect to spend between $56 and $115 when parking for a 7-night cruise. All public cruises are 2-hours in duration (weather permitting).

When is Captain Memo’s Pirate Cruise open?

Passengers should follow the port’s digital signage upon arrival to guide them to the correct terminal. A place for our older pirates to enjoy a grog of rum or two. Complimentary beer and wine on all cruises, with champagne complimentary on cruises after 4pm – Adults only 3rd deck. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that would be pillaging and plundering as a pirate on Clearwater Beach. Located just down the road from the Embassy Suites is the Holiday Inn Express Ft.

The Holiday Inn Express has 147 rooms, although it doesn’t have any suite options. Amenities at the hotel include complimentary breakfast, an outdoor pool, and fitness center. Amenities at the property include an outdoor pool and patio, fitness center, on-site restaurant, and complimentary evening reception. A made-to-order breakfast is also included, which is served daily in the hotel’s courtyard. Hotel amenities at the Crowne Plaza include an outdoor pool, fitness center, business center, and outdoor patio. The hotel also has an on-site restaurant, Kiki’s Restaurant, serving contemporary Latin and American fare.

We believe it is a full family entertainment cruise.Kids entertainment includes water gun battles, treasure hunts, face painting, pirate games, and more. The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is one of the premiere hotel options for a pre-cruise stay in Fort Lauderdale. If your flight arrives earlier in the day, however, you may wish to stay closer to downtown Fort Lauderdale or the beach. This gives you time to explore the area and enjoy the city’s highlights before your cruise. Las Olas Boulevard is the main walkable street in Fort Lauderdale, offering plenty of shopping, restaurants, and bars. The street runs west to east from downtown Fort Lauderdale to the beach, with no shortage of hotel and resort options.

Taxis and rideshare services are available from Miami to Port Everglades, and may cost between $50-70 each way. As the airport is located so close to the port, it is recommended to take a taxi or use a rideshare service to Port Everglades, which usually comes at a cost of $12-20. The drive from the airport to port should only take around 10 or 15 minutes. We love dogs, but the metal deck and lack of water or areas to relieve itself all make for a very uncomfortable trip for a dog.

It’s an exciting place to spend the night before your cruise, as it’s lined with restaurants, bars, art galleries, and shopping. Off-site parking will be a bit cheaper, with prices around $6-10 dollars per day, and include a shuttle service to and from the parking lot to the port. Generally, the closer a parking lot is to the terminal, the more expensive the daily parking fee will be. It’s recommended to fly into Fort Lauderdale over Miami as travel time is shorter from the airport to Port Everglades. If your flight options are much better to Miami over Fort Lauderdale, though, flying into Miami may be a better option. If this is the case, be sure to leave extra time on your cruise embarkation and disembarkation days to ensure you arrive at the port and airport with plenty of time to spare.
